Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Pride Celebrations

Dear 2008 Pride Participants:

Warm regards and best wishes to all who are celebrating Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Pride events in coming months. California is the world’s richest and most diverse society and the State’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities are among our State’s most significant. As Attorney General, the importance of equal rights for all was always of the utmost importance to me. As Treasurer, though my responsibilitie have changed, it remains an issue I care deeply about. The acceptance of alternative lifestyles in this State has improved dramatically in recent years, and while it has not come about without some pain it is events like LGBT Pride that foster respect and strength within your communities and the greater community of California.
